Following deep study under Izumikawa Kanki with his contemporary Ichikawa Sosui, Tanigawa Takeshi was awarded the Bubishi.

As he studied the text of the Bubishi he began to reveal its true nature and meaning together with what was hidden within the depths of the pages.

Tanigawa Sensei understood that the bubishi cannot be trapped in time and as such the Tanigawa Ha Bubishi has become a living text containing the deeper mysteries of budo growing from teacher to student through the three times (Past, Present & Future), the three minds (Warrior, Monk & Scholar) and the three mediums (Touch, Receive & In the Air).

The Tanigawa Ha bubishi is not a trophy to be awarded or a book to be purchased, but a living text detailing your own study in the form of a rough note book where your physical lessons, understood through touch are recorded. A detailed journal where these notes are ordered together with the ancestors teachings and kuden (Oral Transmission / spoken lessons) are received from your sensei to create the Bubishi Kyu Hon (9 Books of the Bubishi), finally revealing the one true bubishi which is yourself, your living martial spirit taking inspiration from the ancestors in the air that we breath.

The Bubishi Kenkyukai is a study association and in accordance with Tanigawa Sensei's teachings is to help those schools and individuals with a desire to understand the deeper levels of the bubishi and evolve from martial imitation's to martial artist's.
